Installation of a cofferdam to replace the speed log of the MV “CIELO DI RABAT”

Following MAHMOUDI SHIPPING order in February 2020, OSS carried out the installation of a cofferdam to allow the replacement of the speed log from the inside hull of the MV “BORA".

This operation lasted 4 days and required a careful measurement in order to make and install a cofferdam specially adapted for a narrow place.

Challenges

  • Doing this work between two berthing operation.
  • Make a specific cofferdam, adapted to the bottom hull.
  • Keeping a 100% waterproofness during four hours.

Result

The Speed log has been safely replaced by the MV “CIELO DI RABAT" crew.
